Manufacturing Manager

 Job Summary:

A Technician is an individual that will be responsible for working closely with his/her team to support the creation of parts or assemblies scheduled. The job requires attention to detail and solid knowledge of the department. Fostering strong communication between the staff in your area of responsibility is essential to this job.


Summary of Essential Job Duties:

  • Process parts or components on jobs in que at a minimum of 75% of your available time.
  • Lead and or assist in the setup of any equipment in your area of responsibility.
  • Provide support or guidance for in process inspection where required.
  • Ensure that data entry is occurring daily at a minimum, and that all required information is being accurately entered for each job.
  • Troubleshoot issues with current jobs and communicate back to Manager. Work to resolve technical issues with any builds in your department.
  • Act as source for technical knowledge related to your area of responsibility.
  • Train staff assigned to your area or team
  • Communicate any information needed to perform job and field concerns and new ideas. Maintain regular communication with Manger.
  • Identify tooling, fixturing, material or consumable needs required to deliver jobs on schedule and communicate to Manager any purchasing needs.
  • Regularly provide status to Manufacturing Manager
  • Work with ME or Manager to develop new processes and participate in documentation efforts


Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent / prefer Associates, trade or tech degree
  • Experience with mechanical troubleshooting
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Comfortable in loud environments
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must be able to work with hazardous materials

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand: use hands and fingers, handle or feel: and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch. May be require to work in tight spaces.
  • The job may involve prolong periods of sitting / standing
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May involve prolonged periods of magnified inspection (eye strain)
  • Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp
  • The employee is frequently required to use the computer
  • The employee is required to work with open flame and hot objects
  • The job requires applicant to pass hearing test
  • The job will require regular lifting and moving of 30-50 lbs.


Work Environment:

  • May involve the use of oils, bases, acids and or solvents.
  • Generally, works in a clean environment and works to maintain the environment as such.
  • Job specific personal protection equipment will be required to be worn on a daily basis
  • May require area specific safety training
  • This position works in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne paper particles, heat and open flame.
  • May work at different workstations as production needs require, or shifts from one station to another, during the production process.
